Summary: [written by HiharAoi_bishojo] Kahoko meets Lili on the rooftop, where Lili then asks Kahoko how her preparations for the concours are going. Kahoko replies half-heartedly, "You might find it fun, Lili, but..." and trails off, which excites Lili because Kahoko called him by his name for the first time. In his excitement, Lili gives Kahoko a mountain of music scores as a gift to help her choose a piece for the concours before disappearing once again. With the music gathered in her arms, Kahoko is walking through the school when she meets Ryoutarou.

They meet each other's eyes and Kahoko remembers discovering that he played the piano, and how he asked her not to tell anybody. Ryoutarou breaks the silence between them by making a joke by saying that if Kahoko fell from the top of the stairs, he wouldn't be able to catch her from where he was standing. Ryoutarou tells Kahoko that he is counting on her but pauses and a look of concern appears on his face when he still senses Kahoko's shock. Ryoutarou apologizes and walks off, only to stop a few feet away and add that he could help Kahoko practice after school.

As Kahoko and Ryoutarou find an empty practice room, Len spots them while leaving from a practice room across the hall and wonders why the regular student whom he fought with the previous day was entering a practice room.In the practice room, Kahoko is disappointed when Ryoutarou tells her that Chopin was a poet of the piano. Seeing her looking more discouraged, Ryoutarou gives Kahoko some advice, "It's not about what you play; it's about how you play, and how you tell the story with your performance, all fitting with the theme of Opening Up."

Ryoutarou and Kahoko then start off practicing the Gavotte that Kahoko had played with Kazuki the other day. Kahoko returns to Minami Instruments to return the umbrella she borrowed the other day, and she sees an old video of Ryoutarou as an elementary student playing the piano. Kahoko is shocked at how small Ryoutarou was and can't believe that he could play so well at such a young age. The owner explains that Ryoutarou has always been very talented. Kahoko is frustrated and asks why Ryoutarou is playing soccer and hiding his talent, but then decides that it may not be as simple as it seems and unknowingly starts to cry as the climaxing music engulfs her.

As Kahoko still thinks that it is a waste that Ryoutarou isn't playing still, the owner tells her that Ryoutarou had once performed in concours, but he had become irrational and stopped playing in public. Kahoko remembers Lili saying, "Music is something that anyone can enjoy!" The owner asks Kahoko if she enjoys Chopin, and surprises her by providing her with a Chopin piece for violin. Once again in a practice room, Kahoko tells her decision to play Chopin to her accompanist, Megumi. Megumi is shocked, but when Kahoko asks her if it was strange to be playing Chopin, Megumi replies that the best piece to play would be one Kahoko chose herself.

After two hours of practicing together, Kahoko decides it's time to stop, and Megumi is surprised. Even Megumi is amazed at how well Kahoko can already play, and wishes her luck for the concours the next day. Having little confidence in her piece, Kahoko decides to practice a little bit more before going home. She finds an empty room with a piano, and is surprised when she opens a window only to find Ryoutarou standing outside. Ryoutarou spots the upright piano in the room, and Kahoko asks if he would play something to cheer her up.

At Kahoko's request, Ryoutarou begins to play a Chopin piece, and Kahoko comments on how interesting it was for her to be able to compare his performance from before to now. Ryoutarou is confused at Kahoko's commentary, and when she mentions that she saw a videotape of his early days at Minami Instruments, Ryoutarou freezes. Unsure of what she caused, Kahoko stutters trying to explain, Ryoutarou, embarrassed, furiously starts blaming "that old geezer!" Kahoko tries to assure Ryoutarou by saying that he was cute and really good.

Ryoutarou explains how music students have been talking about the fact that it is an intraschool concours, and to gain the experience by appearing in such an exhibition would be a major incentive, and that they didn't like him. Remembering that Kahoko is a participant of this concours, Ryoutarou apologizes, but Kahoko still doesn't understand why he hides this and tells him that it really looks like he wants to play. Kahoko says, "I've been wondering if you really aren't interested in the concours... So I was thinking the reason you seemed worried about me..."

Ryoutarou interrupts her by slamming down the piano lid over the keys, exclaiming that what she says isn't the reason why he is worried. He believes she should be worrying about herself and not someone else because the concours begins tomorrow. Ryoutarou stalks out of the room and slams the door leaving Kahoko standing there shocked and confused. Outside the room, Ryoutarou leans against the wall contemplating what he had just done.

On her way home, Kahoko is in deep thought, her even busier than before. As a breeze passes by, Kahoko hears the distinct sound of a violin playing. She follows the sound and enters a park. There she finds a young man playing the violin, surrounded by many people. As he finishes playing the audience is still in awe, and he turns to Kahoko and says, "Do your best tomorrow, okay?"
