"It's so pretty!"

A large evergreen stood in the middle of the plaza, baubles glistening in the evening sky and lights strewn across its boughs. She marveled the giant Christmas tree in childish wonder, her eyes sparkling as bright as the lights itself.

"I knew you'd like it," he added smoothly.

She looked at him, her exhales puffs of white.

"Arigatou, Tsuchiura-kun!"

He nodded, hiding the blush with the red of his cheeks from the cold. In the corner of his eye, he watched her gaze at the evergreen. A scarf was muffled around her neck, her jacket was pulled tightly across her frame, and one gloved hand held in his. A small smile crossed his lips as she reflexively cuddled closer to him from the cold as her scarlet head dipped to lean against his shoulder.

A contented sigh left her lips.

"I love Christmas, it's the most beautiful now."

The taller boy nodded, resisting the urge to pull her closer to him. He ran his free gloved hand through his short olive green hair, a nervous action. The smaller girl looked up under her long lashes, gazing at him.

"How's soccer coming along?" she asked, conversationally.

"Good," he replied a little too bluntly. Fretting over his short words, he looked around, trying to find something that would amuse her. Something. Anything.

Luckily, she found something to soothe her fancy, as she wriggled out of his grasp.

"Hm?" Tsuchiura looked around him, searching. She had disappeared.

Suddenly, a cold snowball slammed against his back, as he spun around to glare at the perpetrator. She giggled, ducking to frantically pack another snowball. He smirked, hauling up his own amount of snow, packing firmly as she launched another at him.

He growled competitively under his throat, as she grabbed at more snow. The game continued, and he made sure his snowballs weren't too firm to harm her, but strong enough to actually reach her, causing much concentration. Finally, the girl's energy ran out, as she laughed, a tinkly sound, before walking towards him.

He dropped the snowball, as she walked to him, brushing out the specks of white in his hair. Stuffing his hands in his pockets, they stood in comfortable silence. His hand brushed against something in his pocket and he smiled.

"Why are you smiling?"

"I have...something in my pocket."

She smiled, long lashes batting innocently.

"What is it?"

The green haired boy looked away, before looking back at her curious expression. He pulled it out, clenched in his fist and out of her sight.

"Say please," he smirked.

She let out a mock irritated sigh, before batting her lashes again and saying in a voice that made his knees go weak. He was a strong capable boy, the captain of football team, but he felt weak and at her mercy around her.

"Please, Tsuchiura-kun."

Finally he relented, lifting it above her head. She gazed up, shock and revelation plastered on her face. Before she could realize, his lips brushed against hers, his eyes closed as she lowered her head to meet him.

When they finally parted for breath, she giggled cheeks rosy and exhales of white.

"That's some present," she teased.

"Merry Christmas, Hino."

A/N: I know it's not my best... but I'm not really an avid HinoRyotaro fan... and it's hard for me to write about them. They're both insanely OOC, but what can I say?? Comments and constructive criticism would be appreciated. ^^;
